Full House Rewires in Bristol
A full house rewire replaces the entire electrical wiring system in your home - from the consumer unit right through to every socket, switch, and light fitting. It is the safest way to bring an older property's electrics fully up to current standards.
Older homes in Bristol - particularly Victorian and Edwardian terraces - were wired at a time when household electrical demand was a fraction of what it is today. Cloth-insulated or rubber-sheathed cables degrade over time, increasing the risk of faults, overheating, and in the worst cases, fire. A full rewire removes that risk entirely.
During a full rewire, every circuit in the property is stripped back and replaced with modern PVC-insulated cabling. New back boxes and wiring accessories are installed, and a new consumer unit is fitted to give your home a fully up-to-date electrical system capable of handling modern appliances, EV chargers, and smart home technology.
Kevol Electrical carries out full house rewires on both domestic and commercial properties across Bristol. We have 17 years of experience on projects ranging from compact terraced houses to larger family homes and commercial conversions. The work is carried out cleanly and carefully, with full tidy-up after every visit.
Once complete, the installation is inspected and tested before any connection is made. You will receive documentation for your records, which is also useful when selling or letting the property.

Questions
Full House Rewires - frequently asked questions
Some disruption is unavoidable - cables need to run through walls and floors, and plaster may need to be chased. Kevol Electrical works as cleanly as possible and leaves the site tidy after each visit. The level of disruption depends on the property's construction and the number of circuits involved.
For smaller properties it is often possible to remain in the home, though there will be periods without power to certain circuits. For larger properties or more complex projects, temporary arrangements may be more practical - this is discussed at the survey stage.
